Pearl Bugg is a self-taught artist painting in a primitive style. Since the late 1960s Pearl has drawn a loyal following for her distinctive naïve depictions of animals in rural landscapes.
The Suffolk-born artist has always been in love with the flora and fauna of her upbringing and her preferred subjects are the dogs, pigeons, owls, and farmyard animals of her childhood. All of her paintings are signed with a bug on the right hand side.
Pearl’s work has been shown at the Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair in Battersea Park, the Olympia Fine Art and Antiques Fair as well at Brownrigg in Tetbury.
